Born in 1966 in Santiago in Chili.
In a video, we see the artist dancing frenetically to rock music before he begins to paint.  All the energy he calls upon beforehand later becomes a part of the painting. Rejecting the idea that art can be the result of a concept, his working method is centered upon the rapport between painting and the body.  The gestural violence forces him to confront and engage with the process of creation, and the pictorial matter gives shape to the figures. The artist allows the visceral qualities of the painting to express themselves, letting the unexpected and the accidental emerge.  As a result, his paintings contain forms we don't immediately discern, which destabilize the composition and create areas in which the motif seems to dissappear.

Humberto Poblete-Bustamante splits his time between London and Paris. He studied at Beaux-Arts in Paris from 1989 to 1995. This young and talented painter, a student at Beaux-Arts in Paris from 1989 to 1995, quickly began exhibiting his work in Chili, Paris, and Germany.
